Florida Atty. Gen.-Global Warming a 'swindle'

Fri Dec 28, 2007 at 07:20:02 AM PDT

I know. Why should I be surprised? Why would I expect the Attorney General of Florida to be enlightened?

In a memo sent by the Attorney General recently to the Governor and other cabinet officers (you can read the story and comments here), our neanderthal attorney general, Bill McCollum, recommended they review a British DVD called "The Great Global Warming Swindle".

Our somewhat enlightened governor, Charlie Crist (enlightened for a Florida Republican) has actually been calling for ways to seek alternative energy sources, which has clearly riled the far right elements in Florida.

Well, to be fair, most everything Charlie has done since being elected, has riled the far right elements in Florida.

But it very chilling to live in a state where the Attorney General believes we don't need to do anything to address the problems we are creating with our climate. (And even more chilling to read the comments in response to this article.)

If ever there was an argument AGAINST the theory of intelligent design, I'd have to say it's our attorney general!
