[UPDATED] Proposal: Superdelegate Leapfrog

Sat May 10, 2008 at 02:18:32 PM PDT

[UPDATED] This is an update to my original diary on this topic. Basically, my original diary speculated about whether Obama could get the nomination faster if he claimed a small lead in superdelegates and set off a leapfrog race for the remaining undecideds.

I have added a new copy of the poll to this diary to see if the new situation - the change in the race after Obama's big night on May 6 - affects people's opinions.

[UPDATED] Proposal: Superdelegate Leapfrog

Thu Apr 24, 2008 at 05:20:48 PM PDT

There are about 304 Democratic superdelegates who have not yet endorsed in the primary campaign. I have an idea about how to accelerate the process.

Update [2008-5-10 17:8:53 by lastamendment]: According to news reports (such as the ones Yahoo! and The New York Times), Obama now leads in superdelegates.

Now we can see if superdelegate leapfrog will begin.

Tancredo Bashes Pope

Sun Apr 20, 2008 at 06:38:23 AM PDT

I know that Pope Benedict XVI has many amends to make regarding the Catholic Church's child sexual abuse scandal and its backward stance on homosexuality. This is in no way an apology for the Pope or the Church in those matters.

Nevertheless, I was stunned today to read that a statement by the pope in favor of helping immigrants was rebuked by Representative Tom Tancredo of Colorado.

Why Obama Is In Touch

I am going back on my promise not to write anymore diaries. I thought I wouldn't, but the recent attacks on Obama's comments regarding jobs, religion, and guns has compelled me to write something to help fight the backlash against his comments.

How Clinton Would Win

I don't want to claim any talents I don't have, but the article cited below contains what I independently thought is the only plausible way in which Senator Hillary Clinton could claim an advantage in this primary race.

Comments on King's Letter from Birmingham Jail

Fri Apr 04, 2008 at 09:44:50 AM PDT

The words of King's letter from Birmingham Jail are still relevant today, because even though we have come a long way since King's time, we also have a long way to go. And, as is developed in King's letter, we are still in need of people who can address criticisms of these timeless human values - fairness, justice, reconciliation - in a thoughtful and dignified but unyieldingly firm manner.
