So far, Marco Rubio has led a charmed life in his campaign against Gov. Charlie Crist for the Republican nomination for the open Florida Senate seat.
Despite being Speaker of the Florida House for much of the period that has resulted in the fiscal problems facing Florida that have dragged Crist down, Rubio has managed to somehow remain above the fray.
However, we are beginning to see a few more stories in Florida that are beginning to bring the Rubio record to light.
The latest is below the fold.
In a storybeing released by the Miami Herald and the St Petersburg Times, Rubio is being caught up in the credit card scandal that has already brought down the chair of the Florida Republican Party.
There has been a call for opening the credit card spending of all Republican officials who have had a Republican party credit card. So far, party officials have rebuffedefforts to shed light on the raid on party coffers by elected officials.
But the Herald/Times is reporting that had considerable "personal" expenditures on his party credit card, despite party statements that this should not have been allowed. Further, records indicate that Rubio's repayment of these charges has been spotty at best.
Time will tell if the wonder boy's run is finally going to receive the scrutiny it deserves.
