At a dog and pony show in Eustis (try and find that on the Florida map) to a group of rabid Tea Party enthusiasts, Gov. Rick Scott presented his budget proposal to deal with a projected $4 billion shortfall.
Here's a link to a summary presented by the Orlando Sentinel.

Below the fold are some low lights:
Education...cut 15%
Veteran Affairs...cut 44%
Justice Administration...cut 40%
Community Affairs...cut 86%
Agency for persons with disabilities...cut 17%
Agriculture and consumer services...cut 11%
Children and family services...cut 6%
Environmental protection...cut 10%
Elder affairs...cut 5%
Juvenile justice...cut 18%
THE ONE AGENCY GETTING AN INCREASE:
Executive office of the Governor...increase 116%. (Increasing staff from 329 to 420!)
And part of the reason for these draconian cuts is so that he can reduce the corporate income tax in Florida, already considered one of the 5 lowest in the country.
We knew we were getting the shaft when he was elected. But this sets a new low, cutting everyone, except your own budget.
